Canadian
National Head Coach to attend Soccer Clinic and Coaching Seminar in Durham.
Ajax,
Ontario - August 24, 2001:
Global Sports Leagues/2001 KICKS proudly present Canadian Women's World
Cup Team Head Coach Even Pellerud as main speaker and coach for the 2001
KICKS event.
Pellerud was named head coach of Canada's
Women's World Cup Team in the fall of 1999. Pellerud brings with him a
vast amount of international experience. He played for several Norwegian
clubs including Grue, Kongsvinger and Vålerenga in the Norwegian
Premier League from 1973 to 1986. Pellerud was capped once by his country.
He was voted to the Norwegian Premier League Team of the Year in 1983.
Pellerud enjoyed tremendous success as head coach of the Norwegian women's
national team from 1991-1996, highlights include:
- European Cup Silver 1991
- World Cup Silver 1991
- European Cup Gold 1993
- European Cup Bronze 1995
- World Cup Gold 1995
- Olympic Games Bronze 1996
The Canadian World Cup team has enjoyed considerable success under new head coach Even Pellerud, of late with 2-2 and 0-1 against USA in June/July 2001, and has narrowed the gap between them and top countries. Global Sports Leagues/2001 KICKS are proud to have a man with such capacity as the main speaker/coach for our event.
About 2001 KICKS:
2001 KICKS is both a Soccer Clinic and a Coaching Seminar hosted by Global Sports Leagues. The event will be held in Ajax, Ontario spring/early summer 2002.
The Soccer Clinic is exclusive to girls/womens players from age 10 and up.
- Players are grouped according to age and experience.
- We put emphasis on skills practice, demonstrations, daily seminars (Olympic/World Cup excperiences), tactics and more...
- Special training for goalkeepers.
- Fun activities including free swim
passes in 25m pool.
The 2001 KICKS Coaching Seminar will focus on:
- Team Building
- Communication
- Game Analyses
- Player Relations
- Practical Coaching
Global Sports Leagues believe this will
be an unique chance for local players and coaches to receive quality coaching
and learn from top international experiences. An event like this is guaranteed
to give both players and coaches a boost in their skill level. The event
will be held at the Ajax Community Centre with help from Town of Ajax
and Village Soccer Club.
